Most of us mothers have heard of the concept of teaching you baby to learn sign language…but to me that always seemed so overwhelming.
Kinda like an unattainable “Pinteresty” goal that sounded cool but I would never even know where to begin!
Then, when my daughter was just a few months old I ran across a DVD called Signing Time at the library and it peeked my interest.
You see, my daughter was growing her vocabulary with ever word ending in “K” that she could find and they all started running together. Milk…Stuck…Truck…Duck…Block…you get the idea. So my hope was that if I taught her a few basic signs that it would help me understand her until she learned her words a little better.
Let’s just say, from the moment she sat down in front of the screen, she was GLUED to Signing Time! And 13 DVDs later…she still ASKS for Signing Time on a regular basis!
So today I am sharing my best tips that I have learned from helping a 1.5- and 2.5-year-old begin to learn sign language. To hear all of my tips, check out the video below!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I can’t wait to hear some exciting stories of some signing babies!
